BODYBAR Pilates is a boutique fitness studio offering high-intensity, low-impact workouts. Their existing class booking system was outdated and difficult to navigate, leading to user frustration and high drop-off rates. Since BODYBAR operates on a studio-based membership model, it was critical to create an effortless way for users to browse, book, and manage classes.
I redesigned the booking experience with a user-first approach, making it more intuitive, mobile-friendly, and scalable across multiple studio locations while maintaining BODYBAR Pilates’ premium brand aesthetic.

BODYBAR Pilates needed a modern, user-friendly website that reflected their upscale yet approachable fitness experience, aligned with their vibrant brand, and appealed to both Pilates enthusiasts and newcomers. Key challenges included simplifying class descriptions for accessibility, creating intuitive navigation, and balancing franchise scalability with user-focused functionality.
Solution
Designed a user-friendly website that reflected BODYBAR’s premium brand values while ensuring accessibility for all users.
Clarified and streamlined information to make Pilates inviting to beginners and engaging for seasoned practitioners.
Developed an interactive studio locator and seamless class scheduling tools to enhance user convenience and support franchise scalability.
Highlighted BODYBAR’s premium offerings and showcased the strength and versatility of Pilates through compelling content sections.
The Process
Conducted competitor analysis and stakeholder interviews to identify BODYBAR’s unique positioning and user needs. This informed the overall strategy and direction of the website redesign.
Developed wireframes to map out user flows and site architecture. The focus was on simplifying navigation and creating a logical flow for users unfamiliar with Pilates.
Expanded BODYBAR’s existing brand guidelines to maintain an airy, premium aesthetic while incorporating elements that positioned Pilates as an intense, inclusive workout. Designed key user interactions, such as the class scheduling process, with clarity and usability in mind.
Created prototypes to validate design choices and met with the client for review sessions. Incorporated their feedback to refine the booking experience and navigation elements.
Worked independently to hand off the website design to developers who implemented it seamlessly. The creative director at Newbird provided oversight during this process.
